QUICK REFERENCE:
Likes

-Science! (Specifically Biochemistry).
-Having time to think.
-dependable friendships, people she can trust.

Dislikes
-Physics, and all associated fields.
-Stairs, also extremely small lifts.

Strengths (both combative and peaceful)
-Analytical mind, which she puts to use everywhere.
-Patient and surprisingly tenacious, and has no qualms when tough decisions need to be made.
-Fast reflexes and a wide knowledge of anatomy which she can draw upon to treat wounds as easily as target an enemy's weak points.
-Is a natural fighter with a quarter staff, but has yet to discover this and is unlikely to do so before she is a qualified field operative.

Weaknesses
-A sheltered upbringing and pleasant youth mean she's unprepared for the rigours of paramilitary life.
-Her Gifted traits aren't exactly easy to hide or account for, and people immediately take her as what she seems to be or even assume she's a Creature.
-Lacks endurance in combat, which can quite easily override her unshakeable patience.
-Has a natural disinclination towards involving herself, more clearly with manual labour but also socially.

IN DEPTH:
Personality - Demeanour

-Upbeat and generally calm in most respects. Chloe will allow the tempers of a situation roll past her instead of joining in with the emotions. She will leap at the chance to defend her practices or those of her colleagues, however.
-Chloe knows that Gifted are a minority and that they are maligned by many, but tries not to let that affect her judgement. In many cases she will deliberately not draw attention to her Gifts or those of others.
-First and foremost in her mind, however, is her job. She displays behaviour that is normally associated with the most senior of professors by remaining permanently focussed on her research and her area of expertise. For those with no interest whatsoever in the sciences, she can seem single-minded and hard to get on with.

Personality - Aims and Drives
-Wants to ensure the world truly understands the Gifted phenomenon and what it means to the world's population (both Gifted and fully human).
-is interested in the potential relationship between Gifted and Creatures, and wants to investigate hybridised creatures to help with Gifted research (for example, she lies in both the mammal and reptile kingdoms and is unsure of potential consequences).
-Wishes to see the safe and smooth transition of the world from the old (mid-21st century) system to a newer, Creature- and Gifted-infused one.

Physical Appearance
-The immediate distinguishing feature for Chloe is her tail. Recognisable as a Naga, she has no direct join between her anterior and posterior sections. Her musculature begins to reconfigure from the hips (or where said hips would be on a human) up, and her human ribcage joins onto her serpentine one after a gap of a few vertebrae at the stomach. Her scales give way to mammalian flesh around the navel, but the patterning and skin colour fades to Anglo-Saxon skin between there and her solar plexus (which makes identifying the precise point of difference hard to spot accurately).
-As fits her largely serpentine form, Chloe is of a slim build. She has relatively little muscle on her arms and torso despite the muscle tone throughout her tail. Her scales on her stomach are an ivory white with wide, barcode-like black markings, and her body is otherwise a coppery orange with a slightly darker strip running along the spine.  She has a pair of curved horns, roughly analogous to ram's horns, growing from her head. These pale brown horns are only a few inches long and barely make one rotation, and they are easily concealed by the right form of headwear (which she has been meaning to buy since the Shockwave). Her teeth are rearward-facing and she has fixed hollow-point fangs. She has no venom that she knows of.
-Aside from her mutations, Chloe has coppery ginger hair which she wears long (and pays little attention to), and can normally be seen wearing a long grey wool top (which serves the purpose of a full-fledged dress) under an unbuttoned Howie-pattern lab coat. She has also been known to find more suitable business attire when necessary, but the 'jumper/white coat' arrangement is what she is known to wear most often.

Backstory - Early Life
Chloe's parents were a consulting surgeon and a senior businessman, who lived in Oxfordshire and commuted daily into the heart of London. As the rigours of their professions left them with very little time for their three children, Chloe and her two older brothers spent much of their time in the hands of various childcare professionals. Long earmarked for a career in either psychiatry or architecture by her parents, she insisted during her teenage years on aspiring to become a doctor or vet (the distinction meant little to her at the time). She then discovered pharmaceutical chemistry and DNA sequencing techniques (still one of her favourites) in her own time. By the time she was required to directly choose her studies, she did not even consider anything else.

Backstory - Recent / Relevant
Chloe graduated from Edinburgh University with a BSc in Biotechnology and a range of ideas and practices. She then found work in Glasgow's police forensics team, completing a Master's degree funded by her employers at the same time. She returned to Edinburgh immediately after taking voluntary redundancy and (barely) secured a doctorate in biochemistry. She spent a year in York's police force as a SOCO (scene of crime officer), perfecting her technical ability and learning to switch easily between her childhood Home Counties accent and her acquired Edinburgh Scottish.

The Shockwave was a relatively unimportant event for Chloe, until the emergence of the Gifted. She changed most rapidly while presenting the findings of a particularly complex burglary case to the Detective Chief Inspector responsible, an embarrassing event which remains a popular legend in York policing. She was almost immediately reassigned to London as part of a plan for a Gifted-centric policing unit but was left in the city when the funding was reallocated and the plan collapsed. Using a few old contacts among the academic community she found and applied for a research role looking at more fully understanding Gifted, under an experienced researcher named Dr Mythos.

Miscellaneous
-Chloe's policing history has left her with a natural affinity for uniformed emergency services wherever she meets them. This is also useful as many police officers believe in looking after their own, allowing her and those she's travelling with to be trusted more readily.
-One of Chloe's grandfathers used possession of a small personal armoury based in the English Countryside to teach her a little clay pigeon shooting. While he didn't make her a hoplophile in any sense of the word, she enters the IBO with a rough working knowledge of 'over & under' shotguns and a disciplined trigger finger.
My character for Rise of the Hunters OCA, all written up and ready for the next glorious story from =pandemoniumfire through #pandemonium-universe! And she's a scientist too... *pause to allow for inevitable Portal reference*

Many thanks to *yamicool for providing this reference pic - [link]

And when i first started to write this, she wasn't anything to do with the police and didn't have horns. strange, that... Dr Mythos belongs to *yamicool who is awesome =D
